Collingwood Childrens Farm

The Shirt and Skirt Markets is held on the grounds of the Abbotsford Convent. The Abbotsford Convent is an extraordinary place and is fast becoming an important arts, educational and cultural precinct in Melbourne. Just 4 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, its 11 historic buildings, gardens and car park are spread over 6.8 hectares in a sweeping bend in the Yarra River and are surrounded by the Collingwood Children's Farm and Yarra Bend Park.

The Abbotsford Convent has a number of eateries within its ground which makes it an ideal place for locals to catch up with friends and family for breakfast, lunch or light refreshments. The Convent Bakery café has an excellent selection of freshly baked bread, pastries and all things yummy. Lentil as Anything serves great meals and Handsome Steve's House of Refreshment is a licensed café - we've been told you can get completely lost in his world if you are not careful. All the eateries offer excellent cups of coffee and tea.

For families with small children, nearby lies the Collingwood Children’s Farm (entry fee applies) where visitors can milk the cows, bottle feed young lambs (seasonal), wander around, feed the animals, help with farm chores, go into the paddocks with the sheep and goats, cuddle a guinea pig, waddle with the ducks, feed the chooks, look for eggs or just sit and unwind under a shady tree or on the banks of the Yarra river.
